But life hasn’t always been easy for Rafa. When Rafa was 12, he immigrated to the US from El Salvador with his family — escaping crime and violence from the civil war. They came to the US with the dream of a better life and future but had to start completely from scratch working minimum wage jobs and living in a 1½ bedroom apartment as a family.
