Hola, I am Noah Kagan. Founder and CEO of AppSumo.com. Started it in a weekend in 2010 for $50. It now does over $100 million a year.

I wrote Million Dollar Weekend (#1 Amazon and Audible, #8 New York Times) on how to start a business in 48 hours. My YouTube channel has over 1 million subscribers.

Before that: Intel, employee #30 at Facebook, employee #4 at Mint.

The short timeline

  • 2004 to 2005: Intel. Cubicle. Learned I hated cubicles.
  • 2005 to 2006: Facebook, employee #30, reporting to Mark Zuckerberg. Fired nine months in, three months before I vested. The best and worst thing that ever happened to me. The ten lessons I kept.
  • 2007 to 2008: Mint, employee #4, running marketing. Mint sold to Intuit for $170 million.
  • 2010: Started AppSumo in a weekend for $50. The first deal was Imgur Pro.
  • 2010 to today: Grew AppSumo past $100 million a year, and started Kickflip, Gambit, KingSumo, SendFox, Sumo, TidyCal and Monthly1K along the way. Eight businesses worth over $1 million each.
  • 2017: Started the YouTube channel. Filmed 100 videos before letting myself judge it. Now over 1 million subscribers.
  • January 30, 2024: Published Million Dollar Weekend with Portfolio, part of Penguin Random House. #1 on Amazon and Audible, #8 on the New York Times bestseller list.
  • 2026: Girl dad. Changing diapers.

Nothing here happened in a straight line. Most of it started as a weekend experiment.
