How do you balance happiness and chasing success?

Today, I talk with Neville Medhora — a six-figure entrepreneur and one of the happiest people I know.

One of Neville’s strengths is not letting success run his life, and still keeping a great balance with happiness.

In this episode, you’ll learn 3 big things…

  1. How life is way better than you realize (and tactics to help you enjoy it more)
  2. How Neville learns things from unexpected people and places — and how you can implement these strategies in your own life
  3. The unconventional business philosophies that help Neville make over $100,000 each year

Things we talk about in this episode:

  • Sumo. The easiest and most affordable tool to collect, send, and monetize email subscribers for your business.
  • Kopywriting Kourse. Neville’s six-figure business helping people write better.
  • Swipe File. This is another site that Neville runs. Has neat resources for copywriters and entrepreneurs.
  • Supermensch. Neville liked this documentary. Made by Mike Myers (the Austin Powers guy) about a legendary Hollywood insider.
  • “A Chicken for Every Pot”. A political slogan from the 1920s. Keeps you humble on how tough life was 90 years ago.
  • The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. One of Neville’s learning recommendations. Make sure to take notes while watching this and other YouTube videos (like Neville recommends).
  • a16z Podcast. One of Neville’s podcast recommendations.
  • Andrew Chen’s blog. One of our mutual friends who has a great startup blog for entrepreneurs.
  • Recode Decode podcast. Neville thinks Kara Swisher is OK, but she gets access to great guests.
  • Graham Bensinger. Sports interviewer, who’s now branching into other types of guests.
  • THEMOVE. Lance Armstrong’s podcast that Neville likes because Lance doesn’t give a F anymore.
  • Matthew Walker on Joe Rogan podcast. Great episode I enjoyed about sleep.
  • After the Ecstasy, the Laundry. I enjoyed this book and recommend it.

Dear Jesus or Son of God that will come (I was saying Dear Jesus sarcastically in regards to your pod cast and then I went…oh…Noah doesn’t believe in Jesus and Neville probably doesn’t either…anyway…I digress…I was trying to be funny with Dear Jesus…so we will leave it at Dear Ra…God of the sun)

I am peeing my pants over in Bum Fuck Ohio laughing as i was taking notes from your dishwater prophecy. (Which is now copy writed) Not kidding…it all started after I left my career to raise my kids and I was doing the dishes and said…Dear God please help me to love doing the dishes one day because i loath this new task i was doing 3+ times a day. It was my new reality.

Today, I am a different person because of 2 costume sumos on a couch that made me laugh and completely resinate with. Well..don’t take all that credit because I am like Neville and try to learn from everything I encounter and appreciate refunds from people trying to learn. But… I’m still trying to figure out how to get my first credit from Hollywood…to quote Noah…this journey sucks…but what a whiner I am. I truly am blessed and will spend my days working on projects that make money, taking care of myself and having fun.

This 40min podcast was the string that tied together all my dots. You don’t have to put so much pressure on yourself to change the world just knowing that curiosity alone can bring change and specified action, if assigned, should make money. And that…yep…we all are going to die but deciding how to spend those hours…is the present gift. Connections are probably the most important secret to success…not from who you know… as that is true… but how deep you know those 5 you surround yourself with and they you (you 2 are really lucky)…that is the true meaning I can assign to life on this Earth besides it being The One Who Dies With The Most Toys Wins… so many have proven that wrong.

Finding your tribe is a celestial gift… no matter the consequence… I will definately chose to learn to love my journey because that was the reason my curious mind asked myself the question, after watching the Social Network… how do I think like a Harvard student… and just like that, a magic wand passed over my life because I started thinking differently. It opened up a whole new dimension. Despite its horrors… I understand how to chose happy today… and you both helped me to understand that over the years. I am looking forward to my new projects… thank you both for being you.

Namaste from Bum Fuck Ohio
