In today’s episode, I talk to Garry Tan. We’ve been internet friends for years but finally got to catch up recently.
He was an early employee at Palantir, sold his company to Twitter, was a partner at Y Combinator, and today he runs Initialized Capital which has funded companies like Coinbase and Instacart.
He also runs one of my favorite YouTube channels → youtube.com/garrytan– where he helps people on their startup journey.
He seriously could charge a lot but for some stupid reason, he wants to help the world for free.
If you’ve ever wanted to learn about billion-dollar startups, chill vibes, and more, you’ll love this episode.
You’ll enjoy 3 BIG things from this conversation:
- The early stories of billion-dollar companies (Instacart, Coinbase…)
- How to find your edge in business
- How Instacart almost didn’t get funded
And if you enjoy listening to the podcast, I would really appreciate it if you left a review on iTunes to help more people find out about it. I might shout you out in the next episode!
