In today’s episode, I talk to Justin Welsh! This guy is IMPRESSIVE. He runs a one-person business that does $1.7 million dollars a year, spends ZERO money on ads, and operates at a 94% margin! That’s right. He keeps most of the money.
What’s amazing is that some solopreneurs like to hire freelancers and virtual assistants, but Justin does everything himself. And he still has time to go on vacations frequently.
I had a lot of fun talking to Justin, so go check him out:
- On Twitter – @thejustinwelsh
- And his newsletter – justinwelsh.me/blog
If you’ve ever wanted to learn about running a one-person business and scaling it using systems, then you’ll love this episode.
In this episode, you’ll enjoy 3 BIG things:
- How to turn one idea into multiple pieces of content
- The importance of being self-aware and accepting who you are
- How a panic attack influences the way Justin runs his business
And if you enjoy listening to the podcast, I would really appreciate it if you left a review on Apple Podcasts to help more people find out about it. I might shout you out in the next episode!

I hear more and more people who use Kajabi adding convertkit. Why is this? Did converttkit add a new feature that now makes them a good add-on?
Fantastic!!
I made a ton of great notes. Your templatized writing process is gold. I spend way too long on most processes like that, but you keep it simple. Step by step to grow it from an idea, to flesh it out to a story that sells. Thank you for this great episode, Justin and Noah!
Dear Justin Welsh,
I Jacob from Indonesia, I am interest to Join Business with you How to mike 1.7 mio per month it’s amazing.
Thank you for Help.
God Bless.
Enjoyed the interview, Noah. First time reaching out to you; I enjoy all your stuff and have been a fan/follower for about five years.
I was about to search for this right now (about content creation), but maybe you can give me a quick one-sentence answer if you can. If I follow an influencer who, say, has 1 to 5 to 10 million followers, could I write a blog post about this person I follow without their permission? With that many followers, it’s almost impossible to get any sort of line of communication. Plus, I assume gathering images for the post of them would be the biggest hurdle.

I save all your emails and hope to read the ones I have not had the time to read yet. So please never delete them. btw the Kinkos interview was great and funny, too SO AWESOME!
I’m not Noah, but I’ll answer on his behalf … yes you can.
And it’s the same for companies as well.
You’re free to write about whoever or whatever you want … so long as it’s accurate and truthful, otherwise you could be sued for libel.
You’re right about images though …
You’ll need to use something like APImages.com, WireImages.com and they’re not cheap.
There was an attempt some years ago by Getty Images to offer some “celeb” editorial/creative images for free so long as you used their embed code, but I don’t know if they would suit your purpose.
If you have no joy, try contacting the person’s management team and ask if they have images you could use with correct attribution.
Good luck.
Hey Fred,
I just emailed your Contact us address on the website you gave. We run MagCast Academy for indie magazine publishers (magcast.co) and I’d be happy to get on a quick call and answer your questions. The short answer is you can write an article about anyone you like, but you’re right about images, they’re a different kettle of fish altogether.
Ok thainks
