Today, we’re talking with my long-time friend and author, Leo Babauta. With his blog, ZenHabits, and his impactful coaching programs, Leo has empowered thousands to adopt mindfulness, streamline their lives, and nurture healthier habits.
Leo has authored nearly 20 books, including titles like “Zen Habits,” “The Power of Less,” and “Zen To Done.” His contributions to the world of personal development and mindfulness have earned him recognition as one of TIME magazine’s Top 25 bloggers of all time.

His blog was something that I always read back in the early days and his writing is still super inspiring. I watched him go from quitting smoking and all the habit changes that followed, including remarkable weight loss, running, and meditation, which all curated into a hugely influential blog.
In this episode, you’ll enjoy 3 BIG things:
- The Evolution of a Writer: How a commitment to quantity and iterative improvement ultimately led to the exceptional quality of his work.
- Helplessness: Why he still struggles with self-doubt and how he overcomes these challenges.
- Growth is Messy: Why people shy away from coaching due to the fear of exposing their most sensitive and uncomfortable issues.
As we prepare for my upcoming book launch at the start of the new year, we’re thoroughly enjoying these episodes featuring authors. If you’re enjoying them as much as we are and would like to hear more content similar to this episode, don’t forget to take a look at last week’s episode with none other than Mark Manson, renowned for “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck”!
And if you enjoy listening to the podcast, I would appreciate it if you left a review on Apple Podcasts to help more people learn about it. I might shout you out in the next episode!
