7 Life Thoughts

Recently, I went to an epic leadership retreat in Israel.

I met a TON of neat people, and had some time to sit down and really think…

Am I happy with what I’m doing? What am I not doing well? What do I want to change?

I want to share the the life thoughts I had.

Check out the 10-minute minisode below.

Here are the 7 short life thoughts I took away from my retreat…

  1. Show up. Either you’re in or you’re out. Don’t half-ass things. Commit with your work, yourself, and your relationships.
  2. Judge less. On my trip, my first impression of someone was TOTALLY wrong. Learn to set the intention to get to know people before you make assumptions.
  3. Growth. How are you better now than at the beginning of this year? Part of growth is also realizing mistakes happen, and that they’re an opportunity to get better.
  4. Be OPEN to change. Try to understand where another person is coming from. Like you, everyone is trying to figure out what to do and live a good life.
  5. Create space. In our day-to-day jobs, it can be hard to create time to have deep conversations and grow. Give yourself 5-10 minutes every morning to think about what your great life looks like and what’s holding you back.
  6. Man of your word. Live by example. If you say you’re going to do something, go do it. If you say you’ll follow up or call someone later, be a person of your word.
  7. Deep connections. When was the last time you had a really deep conversation? Create or put yourself in those situations by meeting more people, or deepening the relationships you already have.

What’s your favorite life lesson? Let me know in the comments below. 😃

As usual, entertaining and thought provoking. You make the hard-to-do reflection seem like a real possibility even to the most unlikely listener.

P.S. My “space” for thinking is a suspended mosquito net over a comfy chair with coffee, Bible and full spectrum light. Sort of like a life command station every morning.

One of my fav life lessons is realizing my thoughts are not my identity – by Eckhart Tolle. Once I realized that I was able to take a step back from thoughts I had. I also didn’t judge them as wrong or right. Merely those two things liberated me from having thoughts define me or my life.

Thanks for the reminders @noah. And for sharing your journey.
We are so programmed to judge.

In a mens group I was part of a few years ago, we started asking the question…
“What is your word worth?”
which I ask myself regularly before say I will do something or be somewhere 🙂

I look forward to hearing Moshe Zeldman on your podcast.

Hey Noah,
I really enjoy hearing how you mix up your life. When something is not working, you just go for a retreat, event..even Tony Robbins one – looking for ways to improve. And if Tony’s event doesnt work out, find your own path on still learning.

Nr. 5 – Create a space is something I also aspire to and whenever feeling distracted in my mind, 10 min journaling always helps..!

My recent favorite life lesson was how important it is to design/hack your own life the way you would love it.

It was about stop being influenced by the voices outside for a moment (friends, books) and trying/experimenting with things that make me feel the most alive.

And then go all in designing that life. In this way it’s all about amplifying my strengths, having the UNFAIR ADVANTAGE, because only I can play me.

Life is a constant self-discovery GAME and that’s what it makes so exciting to play.

Always great stuff Noah. I always resonate and am inspired by what you share.

I love the idea of creating space to make sure you are actually headed where you are intending to go.
