Harpreet Singh helped manage a $6 billion hedge…
But he wasn’t happy.
So he decided to take a risk.
He jumped into a wearable technology startup — a job that came with less guarantees than his job at the hedge fund.
The company was Oura Ring.
Today, Oura Ring is called the most accurate sleep and activity tracker.
Today, I talk to Harpreet Singh about how he’s balancing his dad’s stroke with work, his HUGE risk quitting being a hedge fund manager, and how he’s grown Oura Ring.
You’ll learn 3 main things:
- How to deal with challenges in personal life as a CEO
- Why making a lot of money might not be the answer — and how to find your true calling
- Ways to optimize your sleep for performance to do more (and better) in your business and life
Plus a lot more.
We review Oura Ring and talk about:
- 💥Oura Ring discount. A $50 discount to Oura Ring. Hooking my Dorks up! Expires soon.
- Billions. We talk about how hedge fund managers spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in researching their picks — just like what happens in the TV show.
- Finland and Sikhism. Harpreet shares his experiences of getting into a company in Finland, one of the whitest countries in the world, as a Sikh.

Fantastic interview. Planning to purchase my ring shortly.
Aaaand purchased 🙂
Damn, so impactful . Best nugget: “if your ready, it’s too late”. Thanks, your my fav Hebro.
Noah and Harpreet,
Thank you so much for your podcast. Your podcast may have saved my father’s life. I listened to your podcast on Monday, June 3. On Sunday, June 9, I went to visit my Father. He said he didn’t feel well and was having trouble talking. He also said, I am going to the dr tomorrow if I dont feel better.
I recognized that these could be stroke symptoms. Because I had listened to your podcast, I was more assertive and proactive getting my father to the hospital.
It turns out he had 2 strokes, but he is recovering well.
Without your podcast I may not have been as assertive.
I am a regular listener. I am 50 years old. I am the VP of a more traditional family business.
Thanks again
Wow! What a comment! On behalf of Dork team, I’m so glad to hear the podcast helped with this, Eric. Thanks a ton for sharing. Helping people grow their business is another thing — but saving lives is another. Best wishes to you and your father.
I backed these guys on kickstarter and have been wearing gen 1 and gen 2 rings ever since. They are beautiful and instructive.
Tremendous interview!
Phenomenal episode! My favorite this year as well.
I received my ring last December. Would like to be an investor in this company.
